The hiring math
You are not short of welding work. You are short of welders.

A qualified TIG welder costs $75,000–$110,000 a year plus benefits, takes months to train, and — if you’ve tried to hire one recently — may not exist in your region at any price. Every quote you stretch, every job you push out, every Saturday you work is that shortage showing up on your P&L.

This machine costs $25,000 once.

It runs on operator-level wages. Training takes days, because the skill it demands is fixture and travel speed, not the years of torch control TIG requires. The person you already employ can run it next week.

You’re not competing for a labour pool that isn’t growing. You’re stepping out of the auction.

What it actually does better
Four times faster than MIG/TIG
On comparable joints. Not marketing arithmetic — it’s the travel speed.
Near-zero warp on thin sheet
Minimal heat input means the panel comes off the table flat. If you currently spend time straightening after welding, that time disappears.
Welds that skip the finishing step
On stainless in particular, the bead often needs no grinding or polishing before it ships. For anyone doing food equipment, architectural work or anything visible, that’s frequently the biggest saving — bigger than the weld speed itself.
Consistent across operators
Your best welder’s output and your newest hire’s output start to look like the same weld.
Four functions, one head
Weld · clean · light cut · seam-clean.

Where it’s the wrong tool

At 1.5 kW you’re welding up to 0.24 in (6 mm). If your work is consistently heavier than that, this isn’t your machine — the 2 kW gets you to 0.31 in and the 3 kW to 0.39 in, both water-cooled. Tell us your thickness and we’ll point you at the right tier, including up.

It also doesn’t replace a structural welder on code work. It replaces the fabrication and repair welding that’s eating your shop’s hours.

See the handheld welder run

Footage from the Vantix laser-welding family — the handheld platform welding in real Canadian shops. It shows the range, not one exact configuration; book a demo to watch it weld your own joint.

Built, priced and supported in Canada.

Specs get you interested; support is why shops actually sign. Every one of these is standard, every one is in Canada, and none of them fit on an overseas price list.

Safety

The part everyone underestimates

A 1.5 kW fibre laser is not a welding torch and shouldn’t be treated like one. Every unit ships with guidance on eyewear (OD8 / DIN4 rated), enclosure or screening options, and fume extraction. If your shop needs a laser-safe bay or a screening arrangement, we’ll walk you through what that looks like before the machine arrives — not after.

We set up your laser-safe bay, screening and fume extraction with you before the machine ships — so it passes inspection the day it lands, not months later.

How to get one

At $25,000 this isn’t a six-month decision, and we haven’t built it like one.
Reserve a unit at $25,000
1. Tell us your material, thickness and joint type.
Two minutes. We confirm 1.5 kW is right — or tell you to buy the 2 kW.
2. See it weld.
In Lumby, at your shop if you’re in range, or on a live video call with your material in front of the head.
3. Reserve your unit.
Written quote at $25,000, valid 90 days.
Objections, answered straight
“Can it really be trained in days?”
Days to competent on straightforward joints; longer to genuinely skilled across mixed work — same as any tool. The honest comparison is against TIG, where “competent” is measured in months. We’ll train your operators on-site on your parts.
“What about aluminum?”
Yes, within the thickness range. Aluminum is where wire-feed setup matters most, so it’s worth covering on the fit call.
“Is 1.5 kW enough?”
Up to 6 mm. Above that, go 2 kW or 3 kW. If you tell us your thickest regular joint we’ll answer in one sentence.
“What’s the running cost?”
Shield gas, wire, consumable optics and power. No filler-heavy consumable stack, and no grinding-wheel-and-labour bill on the finishing side, which is where most shops find the money.
“Who fixes it?”
Us. 24/7 Canadian phone support, parts in BC, 48-hour on-site across Western Canada.

$25,000 until September 30. Then $31,250.

No payment now. We’ll confirm fit, then send a written quote at $25,000.
