The Vantix HLW is a handheld laser welding platform sold in five configurations: air-cooled at 1.5, 2 and 3 kW, and water-cooled at 2 and 3 kW. Both cooling types ship the same 4-in-1 head, which welds, cleans, light-cuts and seam-cleans.
Power sets weld thickness, and Vantix publishes the ladder explicitly: 1.5 kW welds up to 0.24 in (6 mm), 2 kW up to 0.31 in (8 mm), and 3 kW up to 0.39 in (10 mm). The published starting prices track the same ladder: from $32,000 CAD at 1.5 kW, from $42,000 CAD for the 2 kW air-cooled handheld, and from $52,000 CAD for the 3 kW platform.
Cooling is a duty-cycle decision, not a capability one. Air-cooled suits mobile shop use and needs no external chiller. Water-cooled suits sustained high-duty-cycle production. Cooling does not restrict what you can weld. Copper and brass are qualified at 3 kW, and 3 kW is sold in both air-cooled and water-cooled form. Stainless, carbon steel, galvanized and aluminum are supported across the range. The head weighs about 0.58 kg air-cooled and about 0.68 kg water-cooled. Wire feed is single-wire as standard, with dual-wire optional.
Vantix positions this line against the welder shortage rather than against another machine. Laser welding runs roughly 4 times faster than MIG or TIG and operators are trained in days rather than months, while a qualified TIG welder costs $75,000 to $110,000 a year plus benefits plus months of training. Minimal heat input means near-zero warp on thin sheet and welds that skip post-weld finishing.

Weld thickness on this line is set by power, not by cooling. Both the air-cooled and water-cooled builds ship the same 4-in-1 head. Copper and brass are qualified at 3 kW, which is available in both air-cooled and water-cooled form.
